STUDENTS TO COMPETE IN WEST YORKS CYCLE CHALLENGE
A new cycling competition is challenging staff and students from Universities and Colleges in Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield to cycle as many miles as they can on two wheels between Monday 10th March and Friday 11th April.
The Inter-University and College Cycle Challenge is being organised by Sustrans’ projects Huddersfield Active Travel, Bradford Bike Hub and UTravelActive in Leeds, in partnership with West Yorkshire go:cycling.
The challenge aims to encourage cyclists of all abilities to cycle more both for commuter and leisure journeys. Every time someone makes a cycle trip they can compete against colleagues and friends as well as between other institutions by logging the journey on the competition website. They’ll be in with a chance to win prizes including £50 bike shop vouchers, £25 shopping vouchers, bike accessories and great discounts at numerous shops and cycling providers.
Students and staff from the Kirklees College and The University of Huddersfield can sign up to the challenge by visiting:
The Challenge is just one of many events and activities being delivered in each of the three areas to give students and staff at universities and colleges the chance to make more of their everyday journeys by foot, bike and public transport.
