Young people over 16 are being urged to get on the voting register.
There is a General Election on Thursday 8 June, but even if you will not be old enough to vote at this election (ie. over 18) there are lots of advantages to your name being on the electoral roll. It could help with your credit rating and help you to get loans, housing, mobile phone contracts or more. If you join the register now, you will be eligible to vote as soon as you turn 18.
The deadline for joining the register to be eligible to vote in this General Election is Monday 22 May at 5pm.
