Carers Week 6th – 12th June 2016
Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise the awareness of caring, highlighting the challenges that carers face and to recognise the contribution they make to their families and communities throughout the UK.
Kirklees College has a commitment to supporting young people who have caring responsibilities, and will therefore be holding an event, in collaboration with Carer Count. The event aims to raise awareness of young adult carers, their responsibilities, drawing attention to just how important caring is. There will be information and support available if you think you could be a carer, or are already a registered carer.
The event will be running across the two main campuses;
6th June - Huddersfield Centre , The Atrium - 11am – 1pm
9th June - Dewsbury Centre, The Hub - 11am – 1pm.
The event will include;
- Carers Count Camper Van (Huddersfield Centre only) –providing information, advice and guidance
- Advice on finances, access to caring services, social activities and much, much more!
- Creative Activities
- A chance to speak with the College Care Coordinator and Carers Count representatives
Please join us in helping to support our young adult carers, and raise awareness of the everyday challenges they face.
